OUR business community gathered today at the harbour to celebrate the launch of its new website Stunning Stonehaven
The site aims to attract visitors to the town by showcasing its host of attractions. There are sections covering accommodation, food and drink, things to see and do, what’s on and more.
Belvedere Hotel owner Sheila Howarth heads up the SBA tourism group.
She told The Bellman: “We started this project a year ago with the demise of oil and gas. We wandered what we could do.
“So we decided to create a website to promote the town.”
And while SBA members had agreed to underwrite the cost of the project, it is already paying for itself via advertising.
The website development was by George Baird of Resourceful IT. It showcases stunning photographs of the town’s attractions and has a map feature that no doubt will prove invaluable to visitors.
Meanwhile Stunning Stonehaven’s distinctive logo designed by Ian Wood of Creative Core captures many of Stonehaven’s unique selling points, featuring a yacht, Dunnottar Castle, the War Memorial and a fireball swinger.
And the energy and enthusiasm behind the website was admired by World champion curler Jackie Lockhart who formally launched the site.
“It says a lot for the team who have created this. It shows so much passion.
“We want to say come and visit our wonderful town. It is great what the SBA are doing.
“I am really impressed and have it on my Facebook and look at it.”
