FLOOD protection works on the Carron are on schedule for completion in Spring 2021.
And, following Tuesday’s public meeting, Sheila Tolmie of McLaughlin & Harvey has issued a plan of the river showing indicative dates of the various component areas of the scheme.
She told The Bellman: ”We will be commencing installation of sheet piles to the centre of the river next week (vibration monitor will be installed next to the nearest structure as works progress along the sections), starting at the White Bridge area and working upstream.
”Once sheet piling is complete, we will be excavating the piling platform and exposing the concrete piles ready for cropping.
”This will be followed by floodwall construction, most likely starting after the Christmas holidays.”
