A WELLBEING festival held by Stonehaven-based not-for-profit organisation, The Haven, is on course to raise record funds to support people in need by offering a variety of events focused on healthy living.

The Haven is a stress free zone

The festival is due to take place over the course of the weekend from 13-15 March 2020.

Members of the public can sign up to attend wellbeing “taster” sessions on a donation basis, drop in to the centre to sample tasty food provided at a pop-up cafe by Liberty Kitchen and/or attend a talk by renowned researcher and speaker Dr Suzanne Zeedyk.

Taster and presentation sessions are booking up quickly and pre-booking is required.

This is the Haven’s third wellbeing festival and is an example of how successful the organisation has become. Funds raised at previous festivals have paid for two yoga teachers to train to teach teenage boys/teenagers as well as support people who need but cannot access counselling support.

This year, funds raised will be used to continue our work to provide support groups and courses and youth groups.

Julia Morton, Director and founder of the Haven said: ”Our festival is our way of encouraging our community to prioritise their wellbeing.

”Our dedicated instructors and therapists are donating their time free of charge so that all funds raised can be used to support people in our community.

”We believe in taking an early intervention and prevention approach to mental health to support everyone’s wellbeing in our community, regardless of financial means.

”We want to avoid people reaching breaking point before they get the support they need. This is the most compassionate approach and the festival is key to enable us to do that. ”

The Haven is a not-for-profit wellbeing space with a well equipped yoga studio, healing room and mindfulness space located at 3 Market Square Buildings, Stonehaven.
