COMMUNITY projects in Stonehaven could see both access and egress improvements after tomorrow as councillors consider two applications to the Kincardine and Mearns Area Committee top up budget.
Stonehaven and District Sea Cadets are hoping for £8,000.00 towards the £19,301.00 purchase and installion cost of a disabled access lift. The group which has 40 members and 12 civilian members of staff are near completion of their new headquarters. All that remains is the purchase and installation of an access lift to ensure the building is fully accessible to all. The lift will connect the ground floor to the first floor. Match funding has been met through fundraising.
Meanwhile Stonehaven Town Partnership (STP) are looking for £2,740.31 towards the total cost of £3,914.74 for a new fire door at the County Buildings. This is needed to comply with fire regulations.
A third application from Auchenblae Parks Committee for £8,000.00 will also be considered.
Fund open to local groups
The Council allocated £80,800 to the Area Committee for the financial year 2020/21. Some three awards have already been made. If tomorrow’s applications are all successful, £57,554.99 will remain available to local initiatives.
