Mearns and Coastal Healthy Living Network – Health Walks
Mearns and Coastal Healthy Living Network, with the help of trained volunteers, currently offers 3 weekly health walks for people over 50 in Stonehaven (Mondays, 10am, Leisure centre carpark), St.Cyrus (Thursdays, 10am, Town Hall – please note that these walks stop over winter) and Laurencekirk (Wednesdays, 2pm, Masonic Hall).
The walks are gentle and short, lasting a maximum of one hour and are designed to be sociable, fun and to suit all. The health walks are for people over 50 who have been inactive and would like to increase their level of activity and health.
They have received the ‘Dementia Friendly’ accreditation from Paths for All, meaning that at least one walk leader from each weekly walk has completed the necessary training (risk assessments, awareness etc.), to welcome and support people living with dementia to join their walks.

Connecting Scotland – Phase 3
Connecting Scotland is a Scottish Government program set up in response to coronavirus. It provides iPads, Chromebooks and support to develop digital skills for people who are digitally excluded and on low incomes.
Phase three is now underway and aims to remove barriers related to digital exclusion for unemployed young people and adults.
Organisations can apply for support on behalf of the people they work with. The deadline for this is 27th September 2021.

#IWill Ambassadors wanted!
Each year the #IWill movement recruits Ambassadors – young people aged 10-25 who are making a difference in the UK through campaigning, volunteering or fundraising. Being an #IWill Ambassador provides young people with a platform to spread their message and inspire others to get involved.
If you know a young person leading change, nominate them now!
