A GROUP of Stonehaven mums will run 10K this month in aid of Pillar Kincardine.
And its not the first time the group have jogged for a local good cause. The ladies, who started buggy jogging during lockdown organised 10K run last Christmas that raised £237 for Inspire.
Julia Lawrie Morrison said the group continue to meet weekly to buggy jog followed by a play for their little ones – typically at the harbour beach.
She said: ”About a month ago I set up a sister group, Running Mamas, which is basically a few of us meeting up once or twice a week to run child free in the evening. The two groups are both small informal and self run.”
Fundraising target for Pillar
Pillar Kincardine is a local charity supporting people with mental and emotional health issues.
And with a target of £200+ in their sights, the ladies will set of on Saturday 27th November to run 10k, setting off from Baird Park at 9am and finishing by the wooden picnic tables outside of the open air pool. And they are not chosing the easiest route.
Julia said: ”We will head up to the War Memorial where we’ll each take a selfie then down around the harbour piers, up and down the promenade a couple of times and finishing with a loop around Cowie.
”We’ll be wearing Santa hats as we did last year. It seems well timed what with the town’s festive light switch on and activities that afternoon, plus Pillar’s own promotion at the Hy starting the Monday after.”
