What’s a Little Weather?

Well, for last month’s Stonehaven Farmers’ & Produce Market it was quite a lot! Due to the high winds forecast for 5 February we were forced to adopt a “circle the wagons” strategy to ensure that the stallholders could sell their produce in a safe environment – both for them and the shoppers at large. Certainly not an ideal situation but one with which the stallholders and the public coped with very well. It was a good humoured day! Big thanks to the guys from the Shed also for their support – they have developed into a well practised team whose aim is to support a safe environment for the sale and purchase of produce from the market.

See the pictures below for an idea of what the market looked like in February.

Circling the wagons to combat the winds

The forecast for the market tomorrow looks better than it is today with cloudy periods scattered between outbursts of sunshine. Yes! Sunshine! So come on down and support your local Stonehaven Farmers’ & Produce Market. We expect that we’ll have around 17 stalls selling produce from fish, though various meat offerings (in pies too) to health drinks and a lot of stuff for the sweet toothed among us. There will also be cheeses from the Cheese Bothy, a newcomer to the market and speciality teas and dried fruit along with gluten and dairy free chocolates from another newcomer to the market. Stonehaven Fairtrade Group will also have a stall at the market this weekend at which you will be able to purchase Fairtrade materials as well as learn a bit more about the aims of the group.
