Delicious home-bakes, service with a smile, good-reads, tombola and local crafts were all recently gathered under one roof at Fetteresso Church Hall.
Organised by Stonehaven’s Far and Wide charity shop, the combined coffee morning, second-hand book sale and craft fair helped to raise much needed funds for Aberdeen Fisherman’s Mission. The Mission’s coffers have been depleted in the past few years and funds are needed so they can continue to provide practical and spiritual help to fishermen and their families.
Far and Wide has a long history of providing practical and financial support to local people and groups and overseas mission and has provided support to Aberdeen Fisherman’s Mission for many years.
Organiser of the event and manager of Far and Wide, Barbara MacLean was delighted with the turn out and with the number of people who volunteered their time to make the event a success. ‘We would like to say a huge thank you to our amazingly supportive community,’ said Barbara. ‘We are so pleased to have raised an outstanding sum of £1225 from donations for the coffee morning and sales from the stalls. Everyone who came along, whether helping out or browsing the stalls of pre-loved books, toys and bric-a-brac, and handmade crafts has helped us to be able to donate this fantastic amount. It will go such a long way towards helping those who need it most.’
