![]() The 8th Aberdeenshire Wellbeing Festival date is set. The Festival will take place 15th – 21 May 2023 as part of Mental Health Awareness week. Any group or organisation of any size or in any location of Aberdeenshire can join in. NHS are trying to guage interest in the possibility of holding a bigger event where a number of local groups might host some activities together in a local town hall or other venue. They are specifically looking for grassroots organisations that are set up for and by the local community. The main outcomes of the Fund are: Mental health Wellbeing & happiness Inclusion Learning and skills development The fund is intended to support the setting up of new groups and activities, but to be successful, applicants will need to indicate how the activity/group can become self-sustainable or able to attract funding from other sources for the longer term. Resources have been created that offer simple advice, highlight groups and activities across Aberdeenshire, and provide contact details for people who might need additional support and advice. It makes unrestricted grants which have the potential to have a transformational impact on an organisation. For example enabling your organisation to take a step forward in its development or giving you the chance to do something you couldn’t before. It will also match successful applicants with friendly professional support including ongoing mentoring, strategic advice, governance support or other assistance. By shining a spotlight on the best of the sector, they aim to demonstrate how effective governance can transform a charity and even more of the lives of its beneficiaries. There are five categories covering every kind of charitable organisation. The shortlist is announced in April, and shortlisted charities are invited to a complimentary and exclusive awards ceremony in May, where the winners are announced. The Fund offers unrestricted grants which focus on supporting voluntary organisations that are building communities that are:Diverse, equitable and inclusivePrioritising youth activism, shared power and transparent governance.Your organisation must already be working with a diverse range of young people and supporting them to move into leadership roles.
