It is said that February is the border between winter and spring and often the weather can be fickle. Overnight rain on Tuesday resulted in the course being closed due to flooding and, therefore, the cancellation of the seniors’ sweep. However, as often happens, the weather flipped for the ladies on Thursday and Janet Owen, with another 30 points, cemented her position at the top of the Ladies’ Winter League. On form Wilma Eccles, with 29 points, was just pipped to the post.

With three more excellent scores In the Gents’ Singles Jacek Nowak, Steve McGhie and Malcolm Ritchie have consolidated their positions at the top of the league and must be confident that they have booked their places in the final. Similarly Craig Irvine and Fraser Stark stay at the top of the Gross Doubles with another impressive score while Mike Halliday and Ian Brattey’s score has caused a bit of a shake-up at the top of the Nett Doubles. The latest standings are available on the ClubV1 Members Hub, the club website and the noticeboard.
