SOME clarity on the future of the apparently stalled development at Ury Estate will hopefully be forthcoming this week, when one of the directors of FM Property visits Stonehaven and District Community Council.
At their meeting tomorrow evening (Tuesday) Jonathon Milne will update SDCC members on the master plan for the series of developments in the pipeline at Ury – supermarket, petrol station, hotel, housing including affordable housing, and of course the championship golf course centred around a refurbished Ury House. The realisation of all of these depends upon the construction of a road linking the Slug Road to the Netherley Road – including of course a new bridge over the River Cowie.
Heavy planning traffic at AWPR Junction
And two separate proposals for the AWPR intersection are up for discussion and comment:
Euro Garages Ltd have applied for planning permission for roadside services including car and lorry parking, various fuel provisions and a drive through food and drink outlet. The Bellman understands representatives from Euro Garages will be at the meeting to present their proposals.
Meanwhile Ashfield Land (Glasgow) Ltd have proposed (but not yet submitted) an application for an EV charging hub and two retail units at New Mains of Ury. A second pre-application public consultation on this is to be held at Stonehaven Town Hall on March 30 from 3pm – 8pm.
Tennis Club serve up indoor arena
Next on the agenda is Stonehaven Tennis Club’s planning application for a 9m air-supported structure on the site of two tennis courts behind the Men’s Shed at the Recreation Grounds.
This application follows the Club’s successful bid in last year’s £1.8 million participatory budgeting process.
