THE town’s leisure provision continues to take centre stage with a recent increase in charges for the use of Aberdeenshire Council’s sports halls – and its impact on user groups – up for discussion at Stonehaven and District Community Council meeting tomorrow (Tuesday) evening.
The Community Council met last week with representatives from Live Life Aberdeenshire to air value for money concerns about the proposed £1.4 million extension to the leisure centre – a report on this meeting is also on the cards.
Meanwhile, the transparency of local authority workings comes under the microscope as efforts to find out where a publicised £5.2 million procurement spend has been/will be implemented hit an opaque wall with Cllr Dickinson being advised the matter remains exempt – see the supporting documents below.
The meeting takes place in the former court house at 7pm on Tuesday May 9. Members of the public are welcome to attend in person.
