Thirteen Local Groups Benefit from Hillhead of AuquhirieWind Farm Community Fund

Earlier this month the Hillhead of Auquhirie Wind Farm Community Fund awarded a total of £15,951.41 to a range of local groups and projects in the area of benefit.

Successful applicants included Catkins Football Club – £1395.79; Kinneff & Catterline Parish Hall – £575; Catterline Braes Action Group – £1745; Auchenblae Parks Committee – £799.62; Edzell Woods Community Trust – £800; Glenbervie Pre School – £733; Auchenblae Pre School Group – £1645; Stonehaven & District Round Table – £2400; Exercise After Stroke – £600; Kincardine & Deeside Befriending – £1445; Kincardine & Mearns Youth Clubs £1445; Stonehaven Highland Games – £1335 and Girlguiding Kincardine &
Deeside – £1033.

Fern Community Funds, a leading independent renewable energy developer, established the Hillhead of local groups and projects. Funding is available for the benefit of the communities living in the Community Council areas of Arbuthnott; Mearns; Catterline, Kinneff and Dunnottar; Stonehaven and District.

Administered by Kincardineshire Development Partnership (KDP), applications to the fund are
assessed by a Decision-Making panel made up of representatives from all four Community Council areas.

The fund is available annually for the lifetime of the wind farm which is provided by current owners Octopus Investments.
