Amey is carrying out road safety improvements at two overbridges on the A90 at Stonehaven from Sunday 19th November to Sunday 17th December.

The £345,000 project will install new safety barriers at both Broomhill Road Overbridge and Slug Road Overbridge.

This scheme involves the upgrade of the existing safety barriers on the central reservation and both the southbound and northbound verges.

To minimise disruption to the travelling public the barrier upgrade work will be carried out on both structures at the same time.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out using 24 hour lane closures, both northbound and southbound on the A90, between Broomhill Road Overbridge and Slug Road Overbridge.

Lane one closures will be in place when barrier upgrade work is taking place on the southbound and northbound verges, with lane two closures in place when work is taking place on the central reserve.

There will also be a requirement to implement occasional night time convoy traffic management at each overbridge, between 9pm to 11pm, to install a temporary safety barrier for the protection of the workforce and travelling public.

The safety improvements, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will benefit more than 14,000 vehicles who use this route each day.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
