Chorus Christmas Concert

Stonehaven Chorus are holding their annual Christmas concert in Stonehaven Town Hall on Sunday 10th December 2023 at 7.30pm.

The chorus will be led by conductor Ralph Jamieson, who has been our musical director since 2014 and accompanied by Blair Cargill.

This year our evening of festive music includes items both familiar and lesser known as well as popular Christmas carols such as Hark The Herald Angels Sing and The Holly and The Ivy to  let the audience take part in the singing.

The programme will include pieces by Bach, Arvo Part,James MacMillan, John Rutter, Eric Whitaker to name but a few.

As part of the concert there will also be a performance of the Double Violin Concerto by Bach led by one of our own choral members Ruth Kalitski who is well known in our local area and plays in Aberdeen Sinfonietta

Tickets are available from Giulianotti’s, EvanStreet, from members, at the door and through our website www.stonehavenchorus.co.uk. Price £15 and under 16 free

Do come along and  enjoy a glass of wine or soft drink and an evening of Christmas music with the Chorus.

The chorus are holding a Come and Sing workshop in St.Bridget’s Hall on Saturday 2nd March 2024 where the pieces to be performed will be:

Brahms Requiem 1, 2, 4 which will be sung in English

Purcell Praise The Lord, O My Soul

Haydn Missa Cellensis ( Kyrie and Gloria)

Our Spring Concert will be on Sunday 19th May 2024 in Stonehaven Town Hall when we will be performing Holst’s 1st Choral Symphony and Puccini’s Messa di Gloria.
