Substation and March – Community Council Have Much to Discuss

CHAIRMAN David Lawman will no doubt have his work cut out to keep tomorrow’s Community Council meeting to a respectable two-hour time frame.

High on the agenda is a report on last week’s Kincardine and Mearns Area Committee where Stonehaven and District Community Council spoke against the planned Dunnottar Martyrs Memorial March – which our Councillors then voted to prohibit. This outcome is now being challenged in the courts, so the march may yet go ahead.

And SDCC have also been rolling up their sleeves at SSEN’s proposal for a 400v substation at Fetteresso forest and were instrumental in bringing today’s public meeting – no doubt there will be feedback from this to consider too.

Meanwhile, much work has been undertaken towards a coastal path project championed by the Lord Lieutenants of Banffshire, Aberdeenshire and Kincardineshire to mark the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee – an update will be presented using the slides below.

SDCC meet tomorrow, Tuesday at 7pm in the former court house at the County Building – members of the public are welcome to attend in person. There is a link to join remotely below the agenda.

Please note I am unable to attend the meeting, so clearly will not be able to provide any reports on the discussions.
