LOCAL amateur dramatics group, Ury Players, are performing their first summer production since the pandemic with a double dose of comedy One Act Plays on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st June in Stonehaven Town Hall.
First up is “The Shop” by Allan Williams, which was their entry to the SCDA Festival of One Act Plays earlier in the year and saw them progress to the Northern Divisional round.
It’s just another ordinary day in the Charity Shop for Elsie and Margaret, with new customers and old friends. But they discover that one visit in particular was very special and will never be forgotten.
After the interval, they will entertain you with “Keeping Mum” by Barry Blaize
Hetty nursed her Mum through a long illness, and now the old lady has died Hetty’s sisters, Freda and Marion are there. Marion has come over from Spain for the funeral, but her companion, Carlos, arouses suspicions, as do rumours about Hetty’s nursing.
Tickets are remaining at the 2019 price of £12 for general admission with cabaret style seating where you can bring along your own refreshments.
Drinks, nibbles, theatre and home before 10pm – sounds like a great night out!
