Stonehaven Groups Among Those Benefiting from Wind Farm

In July, the Hillhead of Auquhirie Wind Farm Community Fund awarded a total of £15,986.86 to a range of local groups and projects in the area of benefit.

Successful applicants included Arbuthnott Community Council – £750.00; Kinneff & Catterline Parish Hall – £300.00; Miscarriage Services – £1000.00; Laurencekirk Primary Partnership – £870.00; Luthermuir Hall & Park Committee – £710.00; Fettercairn Parent Council – £1005.28; Stonehaven Gymnastics Club – £1471.59; St James Episcopal Church – £1500.00; OaKley ASN – £1500.00; Kincardine & Mearns Youth Clubs – £1500.00; The Wee Gaitherin – £1500.00; Kincardine & Deeside Befriending – £1500.00; Friends of Forest Drive Park – £1500.00; Stonehaven & District Roundtable – £879.99.

The Hillhead of Auquhirie Community Benefit Fund was established in 2014 to support local community groups and projects. Funding is available for the benefit of the communities living in the Community Council areas of Arbuthnott; Mearns; Catterline, Kinneff and Dunnottar; Stonehaven and District.

Administered by Kincardineshire Development Partnership (KDP), applications to the fund are assessed by a Decision-Making panel made up of representatives from all four Community Council areas.

The fund is available annually for the lifetime of the wind farm which is provided by
current owners, Octopus Investments.
