FROM tomorrow, Monday, Stonehaven’s early morning communters to Montrose will have a 6.08am bus service – while others can look forward to a free mid day service on the 107 route.
Stagecoach’s recent review of commercial services throughout Aberdeenshire resulted in the withdrawal of some Monday to Friday journeys on service 107 (Stonehaven – Montrose), effective from 19 August.
However Aberdeenshire Council’s analysis of passenger numbers indicated a need for the reinstatement of the journeys listed below.
- 0608 hours ex Stonehaven – Montrose and 0705 hours ex Montrose – Stonehaven (Monday to Friday) – to be operated by Stagecoach Bluebird
- 1115 hours ex Stonehaven – Montrose and 1210 hours ex Montrose – Stonehaven (Monday to Friday) – a minibus service operated by Aberdeenshire Council
Aberdeenshire Council say their midday, midweek journeys will be free to passengers – and they will monitor passenger usage and feedback over the coming months to identify whether any minor amendments to the journey times would be desirable.
In total, including supported and commercial journeys, five return Monday to Saturday journeys will operate on Service 107 as from 19 August 2024 as per the attached timetable.

Feature image – for illustration purposes only – I don’t have a photo of a Barclay Street stop, but clearly this service does not stop on Arduthie Road!
