A FREE, mid-day bus operated by Aberdeenshire Council on the Stonehaven to Montrose route is being withdrawn, with the service instead being provided from Monday by Stagecoach Bluebird – with the usual fare being charged.
The local authority’s intention to provide the free service using a minibus was announced just two months ago – but it appears a lack of resources means they cannot continue operating the inter-peak return journey.
As from Monday 28 October the return journey will be operated by Stagecoach Bluebird. There will be no change to the timetable and passengers will be required to pay a fare or to use their entitlement card.
