Stonehaven & District Men’s Shed is pleased to announce that, in conjunction with the Scottish Men’s Shed Association, they will be holding an “Open Doors Day” tomorrow, 19 November 2024. Members of the general public are invited to come and have a look at our Shed and find out a little of what it’s all about. The Shed will be open to visitors from 1000 – 1600 hours and Shed members will be available to guide guests around the Shed and answer any questions that members of the public may have.

Open Doors Day is an opportunity for the public to pop their heads inside the green building on the sea front and the Shed team look forward to welcoming interested members of the public to the Shed and showing them around. It’s also an opportunity for men, who’ve perhaps been swithering about whether to join or not, to give the Shed a once over – and we also look forward to encouraging further participation in Shed activities.
We look forward to seeing you there.

Also open to view will be the results of the Alternative Power Supply Project carried out by the Shed earlier in the year where we had solar panels and batteries fitted as well as air source heat pumps. We are now reaping the benefits of this project as we move into the winter seeing a marked reduction in our annual heating and lighting bill. The funding for the actualisation of the project came from the Scottish Government Community and Renewables Energy Scheme (CARES) and Aberdeenshire Council’s Coastal Communities Challenge Fund (CCCF).
