Want to Know What is Going on At Ury Estate?

By bellmannews / March 10, 2025

URY Estate owner Jonathon Milne’s presentation of a reviewed masterplan framework for their suite of developments is just one of the matters of interest on the agenda for tomorrow evening’s meeting of Stonehaven and District Community Council, SDCC, when they meet at the Sheriff Court Building at 7pm .

The state of play at the Recreation Grounds has provoked a visit by Aberdeenshire Council’s area manager Tim Stephen, who is hoped to shed light on the relationship between the local authority that previously owned the community amenity – and the board of trustees who now own and manage it.

Mr Stephen may also be on hand to field concerns about the lack of maintenance at various buildings owned by the Council, including the beach toilets and Dunnottar Primary School.

Meanwhile, the frequency of lorries overturning at the B979/A90 light-controlled junction has sparked fears for pedestrians waiting to use the crossing.

And there is a raft of planning applications tabled for discussion and comment, including the extensive works required at the Youth Club building on the High Street and a review of the proposals for a Tesco supermarket at New Mains of Ury.

With so many matter of interest, SDCC chair David Lawman will have his work cut out to keep the meeting to its traditional two-hour slot. Members of the public are welcome to attend the meeting, or can join in online using the link below.
