STONEHAVEN Sea Cadets and Royal Marine cadets welcomed His Majesty King Charles III Lord Lieutenant of Kincardineshire Alastair Macphie to TS Carron last week to present the prestigious Lord Lieutenant Cadet award to Able Cadet Daniel.
The Lord Lieutenant Cadet is awarded to an individual who has demonstrated the highest level of commitment and endeavour within their activities.
Lt Cdr (SCC) M Blacklaw RNR, District Officer Grampian said: “Daniel’s dedication, leadership, and well-rounded accomplishments made him a standout individual, both within the Sea Cadets and in all areas of his life.
“Daniel’s appointment is one of three Lord Lieutenant Cadet awards in Grampian District from different units and Lieutenancies. In addition, counterparts from the Royal Air Force Air Cadets and Army Cadet Force have also been recognised and rewarded, together they will attend various prestigious events over their tenure.
”To have so many talented individuals in the North East evidences the strong calibre of youths within our respective organisations.”
Stonehaven Unit, which is part of national charity Sea Cadets, gives young people a new perspective. They broaden horizons and create possibilities. Working across the UK with 14,000 young people between 10 and 18, they help them see the world with confidence, gained through the challenge of nautical adventure and a Royal Navy ethos. Their aim is to help more young people to see the future that they want – and make that future happen.
The unit is open on Mondays from 1900-2130, and meets at their unit on Marischal Street. Visit: www.sea-cadets.org/stonehaven to find out how you can join.
