Kincardine and Mearns Community Policing team have been receiving complaints and noticing first hand issues with the parking on the Stonehaven, Market Square Bus Stop
This Bus Stop has been recently repainted and is in place for Coaches and Stonehaven’s own Land Train which without a designated bus stop would struggle to run safely.
Sergeant Watt had this to say “This is not a new development for Stonehaven and has been in place for a while now so everyone should be aware of the new ‘Prohibition of Waiting’ for this zone. Unfortunately some people are taking advantage of this space to the disadvantage of others.
”Parking here causes traffic disruptions for waiting coaches and our very own land train which is an asset we should celebrate and assist where possible by simply using the car park or other car parking spaces nearby.
”This week will focus on education to drivers by way of this post online and Officers speaking with drivers but going forwards I will instruct my officers to enforce by way of fixed penalty notices.”
