ROYAL British Legion Scotland Club Stonehaven is hoping to repair its roof with the help of crowd-funding.
The British Legion is best known for its work in supporting members of the Armed Forces community and their families.
But you do not have to be, or affiliated with, a member of The Forces to become a member of the Club in Stonehaven, where a function hall is available for hire for AGM’s, birthday parties, Bingo, quiz nights, tribute nights, discos etc.
But the team behind the popular Market Square say the venue has struggled financially like all pubs, clubs and hotels.
Treasurer Pam Gerrard said: ”On top of this (no pun intended) we have inherited a roof that for many years has just been patched and is now in desperate need of repair and in some parts total renewal.
”To date, we have raised a significant figure through fundraisers and donations. And our new bar supervisor, Claire, has had some amazing ideas with a day disco and an afternoon family Karaoke.”
But help is required. With now around £5,000 needed for the next repair, the Club has opened a GoFundMe page and is hoping kind locals will contribute to Repair the Roof.
