As the nights draw in, Mearns FM is celebrating another year of community spirit, connection, and local pride. Our volunteer team has supported over 35 community events this year; from galas and fundraisers to school projects and music nights, proudly amplifying the voices that make the Mearns, Aberdeen City, and beyond such vibrant places to live.

Mearns FM is powered entirely by volunteers as presenters, producers, and behind the scenes helpers, all giving their time, skills, and enthusiasm to bring you local stories, great music, and essential updates. Every voice you hear represents the heart of our community.
This year, we have expanded our reach through a new DAB licence, meaning more listeners can now tune in across the Mearns, Aberdeen, and surrounding areas. Add that to our availability on Radio Player, Radio Garden, Sky Link, and online streaming, we are connecting more communities than ever before.

💼 Sales Volunteers – Support our sustainability by helping local businesses advertise with us. Mearns FM offers some of the most competitive and community-focused packages in the North East.

Empowering Young Voices – Student Sound-Off
Our new initiative, Student Sound-Off, gives young people a platform to express themselves, gain media experience, and share what matters to them. Open to schools, youth groups, charities, and individuals, it’s all about confidence, creativity, and community engagement.
