Dear Bellman
The age of miracles may have arrived in that Evan PLC, (Pot Hole County) may soon be renamed Evan Street, after the Council has eventually identified where the Street is, and that it is and has been for some considerable time, in an appalling and potentially-dangerous state. Of course, that is just my opinion. And for all we know, the repairs may, this time, be done properly by which I mean, that they will last longer than the average TV programme.
The less welcome news is the increase in Council Tax to pay for the services which the Council is supposed to provide. What will be done with the extra revenue? One possible high priority will be to ensure that the pension pots of those who are charged with looking after our needs will be maintained, and possibly increased. After all, if the Council needs more money, it must be under financial strain. Those at the top will be accutely aware of this and so will need to be compensated for the resulting stress. After that, your guess is as good as mine. One thing about which you do not need to guess is the state of the roads in Inverurie and the roads outside the houses of the top dogs in the Council, even if they have not yet ventured outside to check.
Douglas J. Cusine.
