Volunteers Needed for RNLI Shop

By bellmannews / June 4, 2026

THE weather of late may not have caught up with the season, but summer is here and the RNLI are looking for more volunteers to make sure they can have their popular shop open seven days a week.

This is an opportunity to support a vital service, while meeting other volunteers and becoming part of the larger RNLI family.

An RNLI spokesperson said: ”We can’t keep people safe without the support of our wonderful volunteers, who truly make a difference every day no matter which role they are fulfilling.

”Volunteering hours are flexible, we don’t require our team to commit to the same slot every week, instead people sign up to slots each week that fit in with their other commitments.”

The RNLI shop offers both locals and visitors an interesting array of souvenirs and gifts to browse among – adding to the interest of a visit to our harbour.

The volunteers meanwhile can enjoy interacting from customers from all over the world.

”We’re looking for warm and welcoming people with good communication skills for assisting customers, answering customer queries and working alongside the rest of the shop team and wider RNLI crew,” said the spokesperson.

Anyone over the age of 18 who is interested in finding out more should  pop past the shop any day of the week between 10am and 4pm for a chat – or fill out the online application form on the RNLI website here: https://volunteer.rnli.org/opportunities/112444-shop-volunteer-stonehaven-2026-02-24/apply/[168791]#
