Stonehaven Bowling Club recently hosted the James Roddie Memorial Triples – an annual event organised by the Roddie family in memory of their late husband/father.
This year the Roddie family decided to fundraise for Forest View Centre, which their daughter Sophie attends. The centre played a huge part in Sophie’s life after the loss of her beloved dad. Their encouragement and support helped Sophie overcome her loss and we as a family are truly grateful.

The bowling consisted of 24 teams playing for the Memorial Trophy. The eventual winner was Stonehaven Indoor Bowling member Chris Ford, Derek Pittendreigh and Fraser Sloan – pictured above with Sophie. Throughout the day we had a BBQ and some mini games all for donations, and there was a raffle with the majority of prizes donated. A special mention to Molly’s cafe Bar for their donation.
The evening was finished off being entertained by tribute band An Abba Dream which was very well attended.

We managed to raise £1630 from the day which has now been donated to Forestview to support the service users.
