From Stonehaven RNLI –
Last week saw our fundraising chairperson Roberta Duncan receive a medal from the RNLI for 20 years’ service.
Roberta first got involved with the RNLI when she worked in the local council offices and two of her collegues were involved – and asked her if she would like to join them. That was her hooked!
During her 20 years she has had a few jobs from souvenirs secretary, box secretary and treasurer, to vice chairperson then her current post – chairperson.
Roberta said this week: “I enjoy my time as a fundraiser, meeting people at various fundraising activities, and the committee are a great supportive group.
”I feel very surprised and privileged to receive my award. It has been a quick 20 enjoyable years.”
Well done Roberta. Thank you very much for your commitment and time to the RNLI.
Stonehaven’s fundraising ladies have a stall at this week’s Farmers market, selling RNLI souvenirs and plants. They will also have a raffle to help raise funds to ensure that the crew can continue to save lives at sea.
