From Pete Mason –
GETTING back to normal, or back to a ‘new-normal’ has been touted widely, but it’s important to ask: “Are you actually ready for a ‘new-normal’?”
The Back to Balance project, based here in Stonehaven is about laying the foundations for that new start. Before you get back to normal, it’s good to prepare yourself. At the end of the day, it all starts with you.
Aleksandra (Ola) and Pete Mason are Mind-Body practitioners with almost twenty years combined experience in delivering mindful movement and energy practice, influenced by far-eastern energy principles and coupled with scientific understanding of mindfulness, neuroplasticity and the ‘second brain’ (mind-gut connection).
For seven years Pete and Ola ran a busy yoga-qiqong (pronounced: chi-kung) centre in southern Poland delivering fun-filled training sessions and workshops and have recently moved back to Scotland.
Choosing Stonehaven as a place to settle was easy due to the abundance of beautiful countryside around the town and the stunning coastline.
Back to Balance practice sessions are designed to change your energy: combining techniques from yoga, such as stretching, postures and breathing with more novel practices such as vibration, whole body tapping (different from EFT) and qigong, allows your body to become more relaxed, open to the environment around you and more grounded.
Being in touch with your body through physical practice and bringing your mind to bear on what’s happening in the present moment are key to creating and maintaining balance in your life – even through testing times.
Mindful of the slow pace of re-opening and people’s apprehension at gathering in groups, the first set of Back to Balance sessions will be held outdoors and will focus, in turn, on the five elements of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water.
Each session will last about 90 minutes and will incorporate different aspects of the Back to Balance system. To make the most of our connection with nature, each session will be held in some of the most stunning scenery in the area (maybe even the world?).
You can join us on Friday September 11th at 10:30 in Dunnottar Woods where we will be focusing on the Wood element. More information on the first session can be found at: https://www.facebook.com/events/2457037557919705
