WORK got underway today to put Stonehaven’s Christmas tree in place at the Market Square.

Donated by Rickarton Estates, this year’s tree is a particularly bushy specimen – but a gang of volunteers from the community council, STP, Horizon Group, Fireball Association and the Lions were on hand to help guide it into position.

As the weather forecast is for high winds tomorrow (Friday) the team have allowed themselves an additional day to complete the lighting and decorations. This means the partial closure of the Square has been extended until Sunday, when it is hoped to hold a lighting up ceremony.
