From Jackie Bruce, Stonehaven Community Sports Hub –

Stonehaven Community Sports Hub has received funding of £9K from Aberdeenshire Voluntary Action (AVA), to support weekly Disability & Inclusive Sports sessions at Stonehaven Leisure Centre.

Sports being delivered in the first 12 week-block are Basketball, Athletics and Sooyang Do Martial Arts. Sessions started on Friday 18 February. Each will last from 7pm to 8pm.

The sessions will be aimed at teens and young adults who would benefit from smaller group sizes, with the content of the sessions being broken down to allow for individual needs, space and time to ensure safety/enjoyment, and most importantly to have fun being active and supporting physical and mental wellbeing!

The sessions are FREE to attend and you can sign up by using the link below or by visiting the Stonehaven Community Sports Hub Facebook page.

Adult walking sessions

The Disability & Inclusive Sports Project will also deliver a weekly Adult Walking Sports session.  So, if you enjoy sports but at a more leisurely pace, this could be for you!  Information on Adult Walking Sessions will be available on the Hub’s Facebook page @Stonehavencsh
