THE Leisure Centre swimming pool is to remain closed until mid-September – so swimming lessons will be held in the Open Air Pool, which will be closed to the public.

Membes of Live Life Aberdeenshire were made aware of the situation via a message.

It states: ”Unfortunately, due to factors out of our control, the re-opening of the swimming pool at the Stonehaven Leisure Centre will be delayed by two weeks. We are aiming to re-open the swimming pool on Monday the 19th of September but will continue to monitor the work and keep you updated with any changes to the schedule.

”Thankfully, we are in a position to resume swimming lessons, which will be held in the Stonehaven Open Air Pool from Monday the 5th of September. Classes will be held on the usual days and times and all parents/guardians should receive an email.

”Due to the large number of staff required to operate the open-air pool, we will regrettably not be able to offer public swimming sessions at the open-air pool during these two weeks.

”If you chose to freeze your membership after the initial closure, it will remain frozen. For those who chose to keep their membership running, you can still access the swimming pools at Portlethen and Banchory (or any Live Life Aberdeenshire swimming pool).

”The dry side activities at the leisure centre will remain unaffected, with the changing rooms returning to normal on the 4th of September.

”We apologise for the delay in the re-opening of the swimming pool and hope to be able to welcome you all back very soon.”
