From Aberdeenshire Council communications team –
Aberdeenshire Local Access Forum has vacancies for new members in each of its four representative sectors – access users, land managers, community and agencies/organisations.
Topics addressed by the Forum include integration of outdoor access with other land management interests and with residential privacy, the operation of the Scottish Outdoor Access Code and the promotion of responsible non-motorised access.
Applicants are expected to have a strong interest in outdoor access matters and a willingness to engage constructively with others in the work of the Forum, which is directed towards provision of balanced advice and problem-solving by consensus.
The Forum meets four times virtually and hosts one in-person site visit each year. Members are expected to volunteer additional time to support the work of the Forum.
Tasks may include site visits, mediation, advising, writing for website/social media, representation at meetings and events. Members receive no remuneration for the position, but travel expenses are payable. Training and support is available to members.
