The Rotary Young Chef UK and Ireland Final was held in Alcester on Saturday 29th April. Sarah Smart 16yrs old, from Mackie Academy, who had been crowned Scottish champion back in March, came an incredible second.
The Rotary Young Chef competition, sponsored by Filippo Berio, gives entrants the chance to put their culinary skills to the test and be judged by leading industry professionals.
Entrants plan and cook a three course meal, develop their food presentation skills and gain experience in high pressure situations.
It is an absolutely incredible achievement for Sarah and is worth celebrating, as hours of dedication and hard work went into the preparation for the competigion – Sarah deserved her second place.
