Bereavement Support Sessions return to Stonehaven: A safe space to share or just be
Starting next week, “Let’s Talk (or Not) About Bereavement” sessions will be held in The Living Room at Stonehaven Community Education Centre. These free sessions, funded by the Communities Mental Health and Well-being Fund via Aberdeenshire Voluntary Action, provide a welcoming environment for anyone navigating the complex emotions of loss.
“I felt like I had lost my future”
“I am not the same person, it changes you”
“It’s difficult to function yet there is so much to do”
Bereavement is deeply personal and there’s no “normal” way to cope. Sometimes, finding the right words is impossible and that’s perfectly okay. These sessions offer a space where you can share your feelings – or simply sit in silence – with others who understand what you’re going through. One participant from a previous session shared, “Attending was almost against my better judgment. Everything felt too raw and I couldn’t imagine it would help – but it did, and I’m glad I came. It’s nice to speak to others going through the same as me. My emotional turmoil is a little more normalised.“
The sessions will begin on Monday 2nd September from 1pm to 3pm in The Living Room at the Stonehaven Community Education Centre (via the Robert Street entrance) with refreshments available.
Whether you want to talk, listen, or simply be, these sessions are here for you. If you have any questions or would be interested in evening sessions please email j.graythecommunitycollective@gmail.com.
You don’t have to go through this alone, join us and find some solace in shared understanding.
