THE new membership of Stonehaven and District Community Council will meet in the Old Court Room of the Sheriff Court Building tomorrow evening (Monday September 23) at 7pm.
In a process orchestrated by the local authority, community councils across the Shire conducted a nomination process for members. No subsequent election was required in Stonehaven as the number of nominations was fewer than the 20 seats available round the table.
And, stepping up for Stonehaven are: Alistair Lawrie, Audrey Malcom, Brian Menzies, Caroline Duguid, Christopher Morris, Daniel Veltman, David Lawman, Fiona Tavendale, Ian Hunter, James Morrison, James Stephen, Julie Lindeman, Norman Mackay, Philip Mills-Bishop, Rachel Frame, Raymond Christie and Steven McQueen.
Cllr Sarah Dickinson will oversee proceedings of tomorrow’s inaugural meeting until office bearers are elected.
Meanwhile, the importance of dynamic community representation was recognised by the Deputy Leader of Aberdeenshire Council.
Cllr Anne Stirling said: “Community councils play a vital role in local representation and decision-making processes, and the great response to the election shows that Aberdeenshire residents remain keen to have their voices heard.
“We look forward to continuing our work with community councils across the area and supporting their excellent work to deliver local activities and projects, and to feed back on the development of local services.”
