On Sunday 10 November,  Fetteresso Parish Church is hosting the town’s joint Service of Remembrance, led by Rev Dr Bill Wallace assisted by Rev Mary Jepp and Rev Sarah Smith.

The Royal British Legion Scotland Parade – including civic dignitaries, RBLS and ex-Services personnel, Cadet Corps, Scouts, Guides and others under Parade Commander Duncan Campbell –  musters at the Market Square at 10.00am, forms up at 10.10am and marches off at 10.15am via Ann Street and Bath Street to arrive at the Church at 10.30am.

Accordingly, we are asking all who wish to join us in Remembrance there, to be inside the Church (either the Sanctuary or if able, upstairs in the Gallery) by 10.20 am – 10.25am and to be seated by 10.30am to await the imminent arrival of the Parade. A Welcome Team plus additional helpers will be there to greet, assist and direct folk to their seats.  All are welcome. There will be a Retiring Collection for Poppy Scotland at the end of the Service.

Following the Service, the Parade returns to the Market Square by the same route, with the salute being taken on Ann Street by Deputy Lieutenants Gordon Ritchie and John Cruickshank. Thereafter, those attending the ceremonial laying of wreaths at the Black Hill War Memorial, will travel there by bus, car or foot.
