I also wish to thank our Election Team and supporting staff for their excellent delivery of both the voting process yesterday and today’s count.”

The Bellman, which covers Stonehaven news only, did not carry information about the by-election in the Mearns ward. Having said that one of the problems may be that local authorities are legally obliged to publish public notices only in the printed press. The Mearns Leader and Kincardineshire Observer currently sells 149 copies per week.

Jim Savege is the chief executive of Aberdeenshire Council.

Who were the electorate for this poll? I have never heard of this by-election, where was the information promulgated? Where did the polling happen?

Is this local democracy in ‘Mearns’

Who is this Jim Savage?

Are we paying for an Electoral team and supporting staff who seem to be very adept at keeping the ‘democratic process’ a secret?
