… That flit ere you can point their place.
Mother Nature herself is signalling her recommendation of a night in the company of Scotland’s Bard, whose epic description of fleeting moments in Tam O’Shanter is one reason a Burns Supper is a night to remember.
Stonehaven’s Fatherland Burns Club has been enjoying and promoting the work of Robert Burns for decades. And this year is no different.
At their annual Burns Supper at the Station Hotel on Wednesday January 22, they will welcome Professor Sir Geoffrey Palmer KT OBE Chancellor of Heriot Watt University to deliver the Immortal Memory.
And Chair David MacDonald will celebrate his last night hosting the proceedings with a super, mixed bag of other speakers and singers including Aberdeen’s Charlie Beaton reciting Holy Willie’s Prayer.
And, with the Station Hotel providing the venue, the usual high-quality meal will guarantee ‘weel-swall’d kytes’ for those enjoying a night of entertainment and celebration of the poet with local, ancestral roots.
If you would like to join in with the endearing mix of formality and frivolity, a few tickets are still available – see below.
