WILL Stonehaven and District Community Council, SDCC, take on the running of the beach toilets? That is one question that may be answered at tomorrow evening’s meeting – the first since SDCC’s summer break.
Across the Shire, community groups have sprung into action and are keeping the doors open at their public loos for the comfort of locals and visitors alike – some 11 conveniences are part of a Community Run Scheme where local groups handle daily operations with support from the council.
Notes prepared for the meeting (see below) indicate Aberdeenshire Council would welcome and facilitate SDCC’s operation of the beach toilets and may provide cash from the Common Good Fund to enable a trial project.

SDCC meet at 7pm in the court room of the former Sheriff Court building. Members of the public are welcome to attend and are usually given an opportunity to speak if they wish to.
