From Gregg Taylor, on call watch commander
We are celebrating the 45th year of the fire station being at Mill of Forest Lane, so we are holding an open day on Saturday August 23 and inviting everyone to join us.
We have worked closely with local groups recently, and received fantastic support helping us to engage with the community to promote Fire Safety and advice.
So as a thank you from us, we are opening our doors and giving these valuable community groups the opportunity to showcase their various works.
The open day is all about the community having the opportunity to visit the Fire Station and meet all other emergency services along with community groups from Stonehaven and enjoy a family fun day.
You will be able to speak with crews from the fire service, police, coastguard, RNLI and ambulance; and explore the emergency vehicles. All of this while helping local groups raise funds, enjoy a cuppy and fancy piece, or a lovely meal from the Carron fish bar. There will also be an ice cream van, candy floss, bouncy castle, challenges to win prizes, a raffle with prizes kindly donated by local businesses, music from our own DJ and Dunnottar Pipes and Drums and the Stonehaven land train.
Please come along and join the fun from 10am to 4pm.
