Aberdeenshire Council is once again undertaking town centre health checks across the region.
These checks are an important way of assessing the vitality, resilience and performance of town centres over time, with the results used to create strategies for improvements and to inform vital policy documents and funding applications.
Achieving a strong understanding of the unique characteristics of our towns is essential to ensure that they can continue to thrive and adapt to change.
This year’s survey will again look at the nine main town centres across Aberdeenshire – Banchory, Banff, Ellon, Fraserburgh, Huntly, Inverurie, Peterhead, Stonehaven and Turriff.
The survey is open until October 10 at https://engage.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/hub-page/town-centre-health-checks
It will also link to the Public Health Scotland and the Scottish Community Safety Network to incorporate work they are completing on producing a Place Standard Tool with a focus on community safety.
Paul Macari, Head of Planning and Economy, said: “Town centre health checks play a key role in shaping future development and planning decisions, but they’re also an important way to track how our town centres are performing.
”That’s why we’re again inviting local residents and businesses to get involved, share their views and help guide future investment.”
