The congregation of Carronside Church is hosting the town’s joint Service of Remembrance at Dunnottar Church on Sunday November 9.
This will be led by retired Minister John Watson, formerly of St Marks Church, Aberdeen, and Rev George Sneddon of Fetteresso Church.
The Royal British Legion Scotland Parade will include the Lord Lieutenant of Kincardineshire Mr Alastair C. S. Macphie, civil dignatories, Royal British Legion Scotland and ex-services personnel, Cadet Corps, Scouts, Guides and others, under the Parade Commander Duncan Campbell and accompanied by Dunnottar Pipe Band.
Arrangements for the service and Parade
The Parade musters in the Market Square at 9.55am and sets off at 10.10am to arrive at the church at 10.30am. The route to be followed is Allardice Street, Bridgefield, Dunnottar Avenue and Low Wood Road to Dunnottar Church.
We are asking all who wish to join us in Remembrance, to be seated in Dunnottar Church by 10.30am to await the imminent arrival of the Parade.
Following the service, the Parade returns to Market Square with the salute being taken at the Town Hall by the Lord Lieutenant of Kincardineshire.
Thereafter, those attending the ceremonial laying of wreaths at Blackhill War Memorial can be transported by the Stonehaven Land Train, car or on foot.
Please note there will be rolling Road closures in place during the Parade.
The Market Square Car Park will be closed from 5 pm on Saturday 8th until 2pm on the 9th.
There is no parking on Market Square North from Barclay Street to Allardice Street – both sides
on Sunday.
