1926 saw the inauguration of a Burns club in Stonehaven. Little did anyone think that it would still be thriving 100 years later with the unique distinction of calling itself the Fatherland Burns Club thanks to the fact that Robert’s father William Burnes (they later dropped the ‘e’) farmed at Clochnahill just south of the town before eventually moving to Ayrshire.

To celebrate this special occasion, our traditional annual Burns Supper this year will be a Centenary Event and is being held on Wednesday 21 January in Hotel Number 44 on Allardice Street, Stonehaven.

We have an array of wonderful speakers and entertainers and a very interesting menu. So with the combination of great guests and wonderful food, we are looking forward to a very enjoyable evening. Please do come and join us, but don’t delay as we were sold out last year!
