STONEHAVEN’S best views have just got even better with the return of heritage benches.
For over a hundred years, locals and visitors alike have been grateful for the old iron benches at the viewpoints over the town’s harbour from the Bervie Braes. They offer a welcome rest from the uphill climb to the war memorial or for those heading to Dunnottar Castle.

But the paint work was flaking and their metal corroding, so action was needed to bring the seating back up to standard. The work to do this was orchestrated by Aberdeenshire Council’s landscape services team who had the benches shot-blasted and refurbished.

Now pristine in their new blue coating, the benches will hopefully provide a seat and a photo-opportunity for another century.
