The Stonehaven(Fatherland) Burns Club has for many years proactively raised awareness of Robert Burns and his Mearns’ family connections at schools in the area, as described in our club constitution.
A couple of years ago the Club came up with the idea of having a new event at Stonehaven Folk Festival for children and young adults.The first event was held last summer as planned and was very successful. The event is a Burns & Scottish Poetry/ Music Recital for children and young adults.
Our event is running again this year and we would love if you could spread the word to your families, friends and neighbours please, there are lots of very talented youngsters around us all!
It is not a competition and it is hoped the youngsters can come along and recite, read, sing or play something that they have learned at school or at home. All the participants will receive a small memento for taking part and the event is FREE!
The event is to be held in the British Legion Hall on Saturday 11th July from 10.00am to 11.30am – full details, including who to contact to take part, are in the poster below.
