Short and Sweet

TODAY’S meeting of the Kincardine and Mearns Area Committee must have been one of the shortest – and most positive.

In a meeting lasting only an hour and 15 minutes, our Councillors approved the proposed extension to Fetteresso Cemetery, with the planning permission being subject to archaelogical investigations.

They speedily agreed to awards from the Coastal Communities Fund including for new signage in Stonehaven – and grants from their committee budget with £5,449 going to the Recreations Grounds for a code-entry lock for the soon to be built Multi Use Games Area, MUGA.

The committee even found time to approve an asset transfer request for the Mill of Benholm. Those attending the meeting learned Cllr Alan Turner’s father undertook millwright work there in the 90s.

All decisions were unanimous.
