Alistair Lawrie

Doric poet Alistair Lawrie has now applied his talents to prose – and his short story “The Boxie” features in an anthology of short stories published today and available from Amazon.

Based on an incident in his Show family history, ”The Boxie” is about Joseph Buchan who, according to legend, found a fortune in goId on the beach at Rattray Head.

This second book in the Short Stories From Scotland series showcases nineteen authors, new and established, with contributed stories covering a wide range of historical settings and time periods.

The collection is published by Scottish Historical Fiction Publishing.

All royalties go to MacMillan Cancer Support.

Alistair’s collection of poetry “Caal Cries” was published by Drunk Muse Press just over a year ago and was described by novelist James Robertson as being “a collection of linguistic brilliance and emotional depth which I expect to draw me back again and again.” (“Northwords Now” review.)
